Evan057 Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Well for starters, the very first time i played my subs the 6x9s started to sound horrible. I dont really need rear fill so i unplugged them and they just sit in there stock locations but after awhile of playing my subs the 6x9s slap like crazy they bottom out and scrape and make all kinds of horrible noises. I was wondering if i took them out would it be bad to just leave the two holes in the rear deck? Should i cap them with some half inch mdf or can i just dynamatt over the f**kers. Any suggestions? mrd6 Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 I assume you are rear firing into your trunk, take them out, and just leave the space empty. You will get rid of the problem and probably create better airflow for the subs into the cabin so it may even get louder My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL

This separates them from the air pressure in the trunk
Chris Hammer Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 http://www.spiralins...baffles-81-6900 Or maybe something like this. They have foam ones too. I use the foam ones on my doorss 6.5's because the stock seals are shit and water goes in betweent the doors ruining several pairs of speakers for me. The plastic ones might help against it and you can use your 6x9's again. MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going.
