Jeffl
so I currently have a RE SRX D2 12" subwoofer (300 rms rated) in a ~1.90 cft ported box tuned to about 35hz and a 1500rms max amp. my intention is to get another sub and make a new box for them both. my question is if i wanted to over power the sub say give them 600rms each (currently running my single on ~750rms) should i build the box smaller or larger than the recommended whicih is 1.5cft +port, I've heard that putting them in a smaller box will allow them to take more power but at the risk of never fully reaching max excurtion which doesnt sound like a good idea. So larger box or right on the money wit the recommended box size? If larger how much larger should i make it? thanks for any reply
cmw5e
well to start off . . . i wouldnt recommend putting a lower line 300 watts rms sub on a 750 watt amp. but since you stated the amp is 1500 watts max im guessing the sub really isnt seeing 750 watts. what amp do you have?
