CoritaAlterado Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 I'm going to build myself a enclosure for my 2 12in. power acoustiks, they're powered by a Polk Audio PA880 mono. I have the specs but have no clue how to use them, I want the port tuning at 33hz. Port dimensions: 13 x 4.375 - Port Area: 56.875 - Port Volume: 0.9760 cubic feet - Box dimensions: 42.625" (w) x 18 (d) x 14.5" (h) Also should I build it with a double layered front baffle, how would I go about this? The port will be in the middle, I have no clue how to build the inside wall of the port, any help is appreciated!
revoracing247 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 i don't think you'd need a double baffle running 2 12's on a pa880. thats actually the amp i have. are you dead set on port in the middle? ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
CoritaAlterado Posted November 29, 2012 Author Report Posted November 29, 2012 Aww man, thank you so much Sanitarium! i don't think you'd need a double baffle running 2 12's on a pa880. thats actually the amp i have. are you dead set on port in the middle? Nope i'm fine with it anywhere.
revoracing247 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 how'd you figure out the port length btw sanitarium? ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
revoracing247 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 btw if you really wanna be safe, run a dowel or something to brace from in between the subs to the back wall. just something i'd probably do. but then again i like over building things rather then having it not work out in the end. ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
Sanitarium Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 how'd you figure out the port length btw sanitarium? with a calculator. here's center port

Sanitarium Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 2 12's on 800ish watts to the pair? nah you're not gonna need to brace anything.
