Tim Lam
So i just got to think about the placement of the sub in say a rectangular enclosure. does it matter if it the sub is in the front of the box, the top or side? because to me it would make sense to but the sub on the side face so that way it has the longest depth for the sound waves to travel. (such as an Fi BTL in a box thats 15w x 15h by 30d)
bkolfo4
The length of a sound wave for a subwoofer is too long to develope in most boxes. And if it could, it would not just travel straight back and forth in the direction of the subwoofer anyway. The way it faces in the vehicle is more important. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
