dl9890
So today on my way to work I was playin my music and whatever. I didn't really have it turned up that loud or anything and then out of no wear the amp just kicked off. Door speakers and everything else were playing just fine, but the amp just shut off. When I got home later that night I checked all the wiring, the fuses everything. All the grounds and connections are fine also. I pulled one of my older amps out and hooked it up and it didn't turn on either. Any ideas or help on what this could be? Thanks.
willwork4beer
Amp might be shutting off to protect itself from low voltage? What's your resting battery voltage?
dl9890
I don't think so. If that was the case the red light would have atleast been on. No trouble in the past until now. It's around 14. something volts. It's a DX1000.1 amp just for a heads up.
SnowDrifter
Does the amp work now? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
dl9890
No. Just was out there a bit ago working on it and re tracing all the wiring to see if there was any type of short anywhere. The amp obviously is fine, because when I hooked the other amp up it wouldn't turn on either.
SnowDrifter
Do you have a DMM? Check to make sure your power and remote wires are receiving power ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
willwork4beer
I'd check the connections on your remote turn on wire
81000D
Try runing a new remote wire. Had the same prob and found out it was a crack in the wire. Haven't had a problome since. Good luck I hope it works for you.
Guest
bridge the + battery terminal on the amp, to the remote turn on on the amp. if the amp turns on and plays, then you need to run a new remote wire from wherever your source power is for it.
