scooter99 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Report Share Posted February 21, 2013 Ok house update for you all. I told you I would get you guys finished fence pics when I got back. Well I have been back and forth and remembered here and there. But here they are. Divider fence finished and the front double gate and man gate done. This is from the neighbors front yard Then going down the side, from my side. I wanted the finished side on their side so that we didn't have anyone climbing to look over the fence. At least not easily. Then I had to address this double gate which was a 12' opening. I didn't want any sagging and I knew I could make it out of wood but I knew that after a while it will sag. 6' gates are pretty long and can get heavy. So I went with metal instead. They were kind of a bitch to deal with, but I got it done. Went from this, To this! Full view of the double gates and man gate, all metal frames And the insides And wide open. This is where I'll be parking the truck for a while, and the car when I'm working on it. But eventually a travel trailer / 5th wheel (not decided yet) will go there! So the fences are done now, and I finished up my oldest daughters room last night so she's ready to be moved in. I'll work on my other daughters room tomorrow and it'll be ready. Then I have all my tools coming over tomorrow and the "Big Move" is this weekend. By Saturday night, we'll be all moved in! WOOT!! Can't wait! Then I'm taking Monday and Tuesday off, for you guys by the way, so I can get the house settled and set up. Cause the sooner I can get that done, the sooner I can get started back up on this build! Also got a little housewarming gift from the parents! This was a nice surprise! It's a little big. I know alot of you can't say the same thing lol! I'll take some pics of the house when we get things settled in. But here you can kind of see our kitchen. it's open on the right and there's a bar there, and it's pretty long behind me. I'm standing about half way through the kitchen taking the first pic. But definitely in need of remodeling! All in due time! That's about it for now. I forgot the back yard though this time. Nothing to write home about, but it's pretty nice. Anyway, pics of the house, keeping in mind we're still moving in so don't hate on the messiness! Ok so before i get started, I FUCKING HATE THE NEW PHOTOBUCKET! I've been putting it off and putting it off and putting it off until I think they've finally said fuck it you get the new format and deal with it. I hate it! Sucks ass and I'd love to move to something else but I don't know what else is out there, and I don't want to have to redo all the pictures in here if I move them all! FUCK PHOTOSUCKIT!! END RANT Ok so here's the front of the house: Where the basketball hoop is, there are shrubs behind that, and that is where my side yard ends. But last night I parked the beast (my truck) there and it's a great fit! Just have to figure out if I want to do some concrete runners and leave the grass or if we want to do a full driveway. We're leaning runners, but as the grass cutter in the family, I think it'll be a bitch to deal with that. Anyway, down the line! Here's a view from the corner across the street. You can see "the beast" in this pic as well as the new wall and fence, and kind of a whole frontal view of the house. MOVING VAN BITCHES!! 26 footer! We had this, "the beast", my sister in law's truck (06 F250 cc short bed), my parent's van (in the driveway above) and my mother in laws car filled to the tops inside and out, and I sill have more to get this weekend! Oh that's right the front seat of the moving van was occupied so nothing else went up there! Next we had to get the priorities straight! Got the TV installed! Before During After Dogs checking things out Pandora FTMFW!! Still have to put the cables in the wall and behind the tv etc, but for now it'll do just fine! So that's the living room as you walk in the front door. This is the dining room, which is in a bad place, so we've made it our computer area. This is what I was doing last night! I have a computer set up, and this is all cleaned up now! WOOT! Then on the other side of that wall, left wall, is the kitchen. Again, messy cause we're still unpacking! It's getting better by the night! Not bad, decent space, good storage, and it's basically a blank slate. We'll be remodeling this in the next couple years! It'll be night and day! Then I was standing in the family room, which is for sure small. But it has a fire place. We've dubbed this our "reading / quiet room" where we have the kids read at least a half hour after dinner every night. Good for all of us. When we get things settled in a bit more, we'll grab our tablets and do some reading with them. Also has a wet bar, woot! This used to be the back wall of the house. In the picture above, there's a window on the other side of the armour. So the previous owners had a temporary sun room put in, one of those aluminum jobs. Then the built it in permanent. But for some reason left the wall, which is fine for now cause it's a good play room for the kids. The plan is to knock that wall out, and make those both room into one big room. More projects! next is the laundry room, indoor laundry room! Some people may not be impressed and that's fine, but I've never owned an indoor laundry room! So it's cool with me! Nothing major, behind the door are cabinets for storage. Behind me in the pic above is the hall bath, I didn't take a pic apparently. Nothing to write home about, it's actually pretty small but it's fine for my girls! My oldest daughters room. Then my youngest daughters room Then the magic room! Bah, who am I kidding, we're married with kids, we just sleep in here now! Slider to the back yard is cool, cause just outside to the left is the shop! WINNING!!! That's really the magic room now! LMAO! Walk in closet Old 60" tv, and more storage and finally the master bathroom which needs major reconstruction and reconfiguration. More projects! So that's it on the house. It's not a mansion, it's not even as big as our old house, which I can try to take pics of this weekend when I'm there. I'll show you guys what I did to that kitchen. But it's nice and we feel safe again! That's a win in anyone's book! Ok so moving on a bit. Other things that happened, I broke my S3 again, so I finally broke down and spent the 200.00 on the new digitizer! One of the easiest best things I did on this thing. Easier to change than the screen! I had the back up screen taped on the phone with scotch tape! Ghetto fix! The only thing left at the moment is a little teaser on a project that i'll be starting soon. This will be a tutorial, but I'm waiting on parts still. I'll give you guys more when I get more, but here's a teaser pic! Package peek-a-boo Oooooooo Orange techflex..........................wonder what that could be for!!!??? Stay tuned to find out! That's all I've got for now. I know nothing car related yet, I'm getting there. My March 1st deadline to start is getting pushed back, obviously cause today is the 1st. So I'm guessing 2-3 more weeks. I'd say absolute latest is going to be April 1, but I GUARANTEE YOU it will be well worth the wait! I have some big surprises in store and i'm hoping the wow factor will be as big as I anticipate it will be! Stay tuned!! More coming very soon! Well I'm not sure I'm going to go that route. Whatever I'm going to do we're going to make it permanent. By the time I get done buying rocks and runners, I could just do concrete. We're going to be buying a travel trailer or 5th wheel in the next couple years so I want to make sure that whatever we put down will be able to deal with that and I wont' have to do it all over again.
