JesseLJames83
What up yall I'm postin up my whip so I can enter the December SOTM contest Yeehaw! I'll start with the old system in the 91 Caddy Seville It started with a bunch of used equipment: Rockford 4 channel, JL 500/1v2, and Alpine TypeR 12". In case you were wondering, hell yeah my shits on stilts. It gets floody around here, and, unlike most people in my ghetto, I cant afford DUBS! Then I flipped that whip game proper... and invested in a Brand New used 2001 Toyota Corolla Type-R. Instantly I felt like blowing some shit up, so I did the Big 3... Gangnam Aught Gauge Style. JesseLJames83
Those paper cone slammers were slappin my read deck around impairing my rear view, so I covered it with tin foil - this increased high frequency gain by 25dB for rear filler. I began preparing for the Thrashing Gorilla who will soon relocate to this yet untamed wilderness. The new cage was the result of a contest with an installer at my shop: who could build the biggest box that still fit in our cars. He won by about 1 cubic foot, but it took him an hour literally running and kicking it to get it into his Saturn - Think marijuana dispensary raids in California busting through doors machine guns in hand. But man, once he got it in, that Rockford T2 12" on a Kicker 750.1 did some fuckin WORK. Our boxes were WinISD flat response boxes, and ended up being unsurprisingly dull, but hella low : D Trying to decide where to put everything! Now that my rear fill imaging was platinum, I wanted to address the rattling metal sound my car was making when I kicked it. Outside skin Cardboard and hotglue - I could build a house outta this shit. JesseLJames83
At this point I feel completely at peace with the idea any old lady off the block can slam her door into my door, and neither of us will hear a damn thing. Most of the pros around my ghetto know it aint air tight unless you slap some duct tape on it. I thought the barcode left on the MDF ring would gain me some respect from the young moneys in proximity. Something was still missing. It didnt have the tight kick that I was used to from the 8's I had in the Caddy. So I wanted to see what a spec box sounded like. My wife said her daughter is pregnant, so I wanted to make room for the new baby. I drew a picture of what I was supposed to be building on the inside of the box. One time I ended up with shelves on accident. I heard a flared port wins trophy's, so I curved mine off at about 1/2", what do you guys think? The old box is now a cat tower - and it already had the Poly-fill padding installed. As you can see they havent invented carpet in my town, maybe next year. JesseLJames83
Alright, I had to rummage through old ladies soiled undergarments and young mens impregnated socks, but I found my latest system pics, YEEEE-HEW! SO I got this cool prefab Kicker box that came with L7 12's, sans 12's. SO, I put my round peg in her square hole... twice. Also primo shots of the Dual Flux Capacitors - 1.21 GigaWatts!!! If you install them upside down they drain faster, but fill up slower. I decided to go faster 0-35 acceleration because who needs top end on city streets, yah dig? The V2 is tight, but I exploded all over my living room when I saw the new 1200/1v3 - Think 50 cal. head shots from across the mountain in Afghanistan. Gittiner' all juiced up and tuned up for the 30 second break-in period. Full volume till they start smokin, then back it down a notch. It took me about 3 minutes to fandangle the smucker in. Here's a still life photograph of the door panels back on. The woofers popped against the plastic so I ride with em off till I build door panels. One day my tweeters weren't hittin hard anymore, so I pointed them back at my knee caps and everything was fine again. I keep the crossover chips at +6dB gain because I like it when 10 kilo hurtz sizzels my nizzel. Took me about 30 minutes gettin shnockered before I worked up enough elbow grease to get it out again. Painted it flat "nothing to see in here keep moving along" black. yourstruly232
I knoww this is a wayy old post but I have a 2000 Corolla build and whenever I hit low notes my rear deck rattles and vibrates and makes a very annoying noise. Did you have that problem at all? Did the tin foil help?

I just dont understand what he means by "it was impairing his rear view" I think the kid was trying to be funny. Try some deadener on both the top and bottom and your problem should subside. If your rattles still persist then invest in some luxury liner pro from Second Skin and never worry about it again. Just a side note Peel and Seal or whatever kind of "foil" he used is not sound deadener. The best value I have found would be Q-mat or Stinger Roadkill, or buy Second Skin. If you can afford it, it is definately worth it.
