Pioneerchuck Posted June 24, 2013 Author Report Posted June 24, 2013 Alright it's been a while since I posted any updates about what's been going on but here is a little bit of what Ive done so far to get the truck ready for the new build. I also changed my subs from being Sundown to DC XL 10s D 0.7 ohm. But lately i took the bed off so I could recess mount a box where the pressure relief panels were so the wiring wouldnt hit the bed and so I could get another good frame ground. Well to start the bed had to come off. Since I live in the dorms on base you can assume how unhappy they were with this idea...Lol And yes I drove like this for about 2 weeks, Very sketchy... You can see in this picture the little black panels. They are pressure relief panels and they sound like a bad fart when the music played on the old system so they had to go. First panel all bolted up and sealed off
Pioneerchuck Posted June 24, 2013 Author Report Posted June 24, 2013 Next was the right side panel which was going to be recessed then sealed and have 4 runs of 0ga run through it 2 neg. 2 pos. Here is the panel on the inside of the truck. It fit perfectly under the back wall brace that Ford decided was necessary to install...Lol Got a new frame ground in there just in case. And used some big ass bolt i found at Home Depot to secure it to the frame. Seeing as how the bed will cover this up, i was not worried about it being pretty after i sealed everything off Got the 4 runs installed I used electrical tape for now but still waiting for my techflex to come in the mail.

Pioneerchuck Posted June 24, 2013 Author Report Posted June 24, 2013 I also figured Id try my luck at Vinyl wrapping. And it didnt come out too bad actually. I got glue everywhere and couldnt figure out how to finish the corners but it still looks pretty good. And yes every imperfection shows. You can see where the drill ate some wood. Test fit I did fuck up and not factor in where the battery would be and where my wiring came through so I was only able to fit 2 wires through their holes. Had to redo the battery tray for the passenger side battery In this picture you can clearly see the right side battery tray was lengthened. Not pretty but it works Holes cut for wiring and holes cut for RCAs And the backside. Those two humps are bracing for the amp to mount too.
