BRZ1200.1d and SA-12 D2 Enclosure Design

To start off i have never designed a box, so please keep that in mind. I have had 4 subwoofer setups prior to this one. i have had kenwood, kicker, alpine twice, and now i finally have something that is worth braging about. The SA12.

going into a Ford Focus 2012 Sedan

Now i want to build a box that is tuned to 29hz for daily/ 55hz for spl burp

dimensions available are:

Height 14.5"x Width 30"x Depth 20"

I plan on using aero ports and attaching them/ it with hurrican nuts so i can change the tuning from daily tuning of 29hz to spl burp of 55hz

This is what i came up with using Torres Calc, any input would be great!

port area for circle ports has to be around 9-11 square inches per cubic foot. you have 3.33 per cubic foot.

almost 4 cubes is fucking gigantic for a 12 by the way.

box is still way too large.

go to sundowns site. find your woofer. find enclosure recommendations. hit the arrow to expand it so you can see the information.

change your box design accordingly.

mind you with your current design, EACH port has to be 22" long. that will be kind of difficult (aka you need to bend the ports).

The box Depth is 25" so i should not hve to bend the ports

Also when i used WinISD the recommended box size was over 4 cubes... not saying you are wrong just curious as to why that is.

And as i decrease the size of the box its harder to make it tuned arnd 29-30hz range.

winisd isn't good with figuring out "recommended" box sizes. nor are its spl/output graphics accurate.

yes you do need to bend them. for however wide the port is, it has to be that far away from the wall.

edit: dont know why you're trusting some random windows applications box recommendations, over the manufacturer. winisd figures it out using some sort of math formula. sundown found theirs out through real world testing.
