kaydennicholson Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Okay so I currently have an Alpine PDX 1000 amp running 2 RE Audio SEx drivers and plan on getting potentially 2 Sundown SA12s in a custom box. so i have a few questions... 1. I can get this amp for like $250, for that much power is it too good to be true? 2. Are these amps good quality? or should i stick with my pdx and just add a second amp for the setup? 3. Will 2 Sundown SA12s handle all of that power and can i wire them to 1 ohm (mean i would have to buy the 4 ohm SA12s, correct?) Thanks in advance!
mikelbolton Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 I have a BRZ2400.1D, I love it... I will say that they are power hungry, but I think I've gotten my money's worth out of the amp. I have no first-hand experience with the SA's, but I have heard many good things about them. Worst-case scenario, if you buy the D2's, you can wire them to 2-Ohm, and at that load, the amp will put out 1400W RMS... keith Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 I would stay with the pdx line of alpine better quality of amp and sound i run rockford power amps myself just add one more, those subs will handle about 1100 to 1200 watts of clean power i have 2 of the sa 12 and my rockford is giving them 1950 watts rms and they eat it up with no problems.

kaydennicholson Posted February 3, 2013 Author Report Posted February 3, 2013 Thank you all for the input I installed the BRZ and noticed a significant difference in power, ran the 0 gauge and now I have a bass remote with it (finally, I've always wanted one) and just waiting on the kinetic 2400 to come in
