Suitable Graphics Card for 3x Full HD 24" Monitors Farcry 3 Ultra Settings

My new computer system will consist of three Asus 24" Full HD LED Displays. I want to be able to run Farcry 3 at Ultra Settings and at a 60fps framerate. What card will allow me to achieve this?

Currently there is an auction on eBay for a pair of 5970's cheap. But I've heard the cards need allot of memory to run Eyefinity properly, I've also heard Farcry 3 does not support Quadfire.

The most I'd be willing to spend would be $1000 to get something like a Radeon 7990. But it would be much better if I could spend less.

What would be the equivalent 2 card setup? I don't believe the motherboard I have has three full speed PCI Express slots I'm looking to get 2 cards, like 2 7970's.

you wont get 3 full speed slots anyways.you wont even get 2 full speed slots lol. and im not sure how that would work with 2 cards and 3 monitors. like physically how to hook up the monitors to the cards. but 2 7970s would kick farcry in the balls and leave it bloody and bruised in the street

Yeah but I mean the third slot only runs at 4x, with two cards both will run at 8x which is fine. To run the tree monitors you use software made by AMD called Eyefinity, you can actually run up to 4 monitors with the newer cards.

Oh haha I was wondering how you could know allot about AMD cards but not know what Eyefinity was. I believe the card has 1x DVI, 1x HDMI and 2x Mini DP? I'm guessing here but I would use 1x DVI, 1x HDMI and 1x Mini DP because if I used all Mini DP I would need to buy 2 more active DP adapters which are expensive.

I don't have much experience with Nvidia cards but would be interested in them as an option how do you think dual 690's would compare to dual 7970's?
