Group 8D batteries

Whats going on people?

I have a curious questions about batteries... I have just came across Group 8D batteries. They seem to be used in an industrial setting for a lot of big desiel motors and such.

What I was wondering if they would be any good for car audio as they seem to have a long ah rating:

Here are the specs of what I have found, now these are just approx numbers as I have gathered them from a few difference sources

Voltage: 12v

20hr Rate AH: 230

5hr Rate AH: 179

CA @ 32F: 1850

CCA @ 0 F: 1450

@25amps:460 min capacity

I can get them cheap and they are all over the place unlike other "audio" brand batteries in my area.

what do you guys say??

BITD, we used lots of 4D and 8D batteries with good success. Of course, that was long before we had options like the stuff from XS Power. Sometime in the mid '90s, we migrated away from the 4Ds and 8Ds in favor of 6 volt batteries that we seriesed.

I knew a whole lot less about batteries THEN compared to today, so it would be really difficult to draw any meaningful comparisons based on memory. This I can tell you. If I was investing in batteries today, it wouldn't be in 8Ds.
