joe562mma Posted January 15, 2013 Report Share Posted January 15, 2013 I just have a question for you folks about my ride, im planning on removing my ac & adding another alternator to my van, but i was wondering if i just replace my alt with a mechman or dc over 300amp alt will that do ok instead of 2 mediocre alts (my shop built 230 a alt) im running a crescendo bc 5500 with 4 cnd 400 in back.. running 2 runs of 1 ah welding wire Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you have a DC clamp: test them they have the machine they have the clamp on it it shows the amperage its pulling at what rpm im seeing around 240 actually i went it today its a 250 amp escalade alt but its fits perfect for my ride but i was discussing it with him were gonna do dual alts remove the ac!
