slapaddict209 Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Hey what's going on guys well here's what's going on I received a DD 3512 plus a 3510 both are daul 2 ohms I have a saz3000d and was wondering if I make a custom box with each sub in different chambers would this affect my amp or sound in the vehicle is it even possible???
Chris Hammer Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 You can have them if they aren't sharing airspace and the they are both same voice coil impendance...like D$ or D2..you can't with a d2 and d4 mixed though. I wouldn't though...i tried it one time just because I had two boxes and sub laying around...when thye would both play the same note it sounded like distorted shit...and they each sounded pretty good individually...by ear it was a little louder though..just sounded like ass IMO. One Way Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 a lot of people argue that different sized subs in the same car can cause cancellation and will not work, some have had success. I personally think it looks ugly and should either stick with one or the other and get a matching pair if you want two. (just my opinion tho) now if youre trying to connect both on the same amp, thats a red flag right there. Never mix different subs together on the same amp you will have to get a separate amp, if you MUST run both dont try to hook them up to a single amp. OK this is what I wanted to know there both daul. 2 but I wanted to run them on the same amp but good thing I know now

Theres nothing wrong with hime wiring those subs in series or parallel...as long as they are the same vc configuration.. since they are both D2 they would be fine and are identical motor/vc. The only problem he might have is cancelation..but from a wiring stand point its perfectly fine. What you could always do is recone one to the same size. Recone the 3510 into a 3512. buy a basket and recone from DD. Thats what I would do. You could sell the 10" basket to ofset the cost a little too. MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. I caught that. But your gambling on them sounding worse then just running one...some people have had luck running different sizes though. Only way to know is to try.... but I would recone the 10 to a 12 IMO..just a suggestion though.. IMO two 12's would be better than a 10+12 MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild***** Vehicles 2005 GMC Canyon CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. One Way Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 dont run them together even if they do have the same impedance, they are the same model but not the same size so they both have different t/s parameter. T-line build- http://www.stevemead...e-t-line-build/
