Silverado Misfire issues

Recommended Posts

tell you right had the same prob with my 5.3l 2002 yukon check the intake gaskets if they are plastic they most likely are leaking (they were on factory recall) get some steel and rubber ones haven't had an issue since

otherwise your maf is dirty or going out

alright now i found the gaskets http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/FEL0/MS98016T.oap?pt=02293&ppt=C0026

I'm not sure what's going on.. I'm getting MAF codes now, but it's not running any different than before...I'm gonna try unplugging it and see what happens when I gun it (besides loss of power...) we may change the MAF anyways, but I'm taking it down to either the fuel pump, the catalytic converter, or the intake gaskets...

Looks like we're gonna take it to a good mechanic this week...hopefully.

Well for those that were wondering, I was throwing Catalyst Ineffiency codes, so I had the cat's cut off, drove it down the road, and she had power like I wouldn't believe. $500 and two catalytic converters later, she's running like a dream. 0-60 in 8 seconds, that's better than ~20 seconds
