Joe X Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 I am trying to explain to my wife why i can't take a polk carbon 600 watt mono amp and a kenwood 9105d mono amp and hook them both to the same speaker and get 1500 watts out of it. Maybe you guys can help, cause i cant explain it so that she can understand. She knows nothing about car audio or electronics. So keep it simple. So let's assume this is a DVC speaker what would you say it will happen?
R James Trapp Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 I'm going to say this all started when we were talking about how i am going to put the sub box and amps and batteries and make it all fit in the hatch. She said just wall the thing off. Then i showed her some numbers on what it is going to cost to do that. Then she looked at the pile of old amps i have and said "i don't understand why you need more amps you have like 6 here" So i told her that you can't run mixed matched amps to the same speakers. yadda yadda. My wife is identical but not an idiot. She's learning fast but ya, I have a few amps stacked up and I get that same question! Lol
R James Trapp Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 My wife's into horse's, so I told her think of the horse as a sub, think of the hay as a amp. You wouldn't feed your horse old stale moldy hay would you? Well you don't feed your sub old stale moldy power! Lmao!
