Joshua Dumas
I want to build a box that will hold 2 rockford fosgate 12" p2's and will be tuned to around 33hz. I was going to use all the dimensions on this. But im just wondering is this a good design? will it sound good? and im also wondering how should i make the port? any help will be appriciated. thanks
CleanSierra
You don't have enough port area. You need to get port area per foot between the 12-16" per foot range. Try making your port wider and longer. Still pay attention to your net volume to because any port adjustments you make will affect your volume. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Joshua Dumas
how about that? on rockford fosgates website they recomend that the box should be around 3.58 ft cubed for the net volume, this one is lower, is that ok? and if the port is going to be 25.5 inches long how am i going to put that inside the box? CleanSierra
.20 cubes aren't gonna kill ya. I like the specs on most recent Torres. Plus those numbers in to the RE audio calculator(you manually have to manipulate the TOTAL port length so it equals what number you have, but that is reasy) and that will give you your cut sheet Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Carbon
time to get building! that re box calculator almost makes it to easy haha RE is pretty good as far as the cut sheet goes. Not the best for tuning though, from my experience its usually a little high.
stroupe79
the 2nd design is way better, RE calculator is only good for visualizing your torres design...lol http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
Joshua Dumas
well the re calculator gives me a different tuned frequency than torres. but the re calculator doesnt account for the braces or the subs so thats why its different im guessing?
