SLYentist
what up, I came up on some copper wiring today... legitimately I have here two unknown thicknesses of wire: one more flexible with many more, thinner, strands, and the other which is very stiff but is really packed with copper. Both wires are salvaged from totaled BMWs and have German brand names on them. Included is the picture I took. From left to right the wires are: 1) Audio Technix OFC 1/0 cable (the most flexible) 2) The smaller BMW wire with many strands 3) The thickest and heaviest of the group. The strands are large, almost like packing a bunch of 22 gauge wires together, and the wire itself is very stiff and not flexible. For your opinions and thoughts, what would your estimation be on wire gauge? They're obviously thicker than 1/0, but i've never seen 2/0 or 3/0, so I can't make that claim. Thanks! Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
Emmet
Both look like 2/0 welding cable to be honest... Any numbers on the jacket? i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah.. You want this to happen to you? Give decent handshakes people. Guest
i'd say they're both 1/0, since they're almost the exact size of the AT wire.
SLYentist
cool, thanks. No numbers on the jackets, but one is just printed with the company name. Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
