Lyferxb9s Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 What build are you looking at? It's a 4th order with two IA DR 18s. The L stock most certainly helps with flex and gives a solid mounting surface for my sealed chamber baffles.
skittlesRgood Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 no its not. the sealed baffle is bracing the outer walls exactly where the metal is. the baffle wouldnt let that part of the walls move so the metal doesnt have much to improve on. that L brace in the corner does a little bit for flex but its main job is to old the joint together and I've never seen someone blow out an edge on their box so, again, it's not doing much. a panel will flex the most in the middle of the panel so the all-thread helps a lot. I know the box is a 4th order, I'm talking about your doors. your door is an infinite baffle and you put a port in it. I don't understand the thought process on that one. Again, I'm not trying to be a dick. I'm just trying to help your future builds. oh, and if those cross sections of all-thread are touching, or really close, you might want to tie them all together so they dont rattle against each other. Lyferxb9s Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 The all thread is welded together. My doors have been sealed up completely, even around where the window goes. I pulled a door off and filled it with packing peanuts to get the volume so I could properly tune the port. All of that was with the help of Epicenterdesigns who has ported several doors before. the 10'' is ported and the 8'' is sealed. And if you think the metal for the sealed section to mount to does not help with outward flex of the rest of the box, well I really don't even know what to say to that lol
