AmmoJammo
Explain to me how more voltage = more protect on a 12 volt system I am an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER ---- I am all ears bro That was why I started this thread, to see if anyone had any suggestions. There's no point in me adding more batteries if it results in the amps going in to protect sooner.
AMI CUSTOMS
It CANT there is something else going on, it isn't more voltage causing the amp to go into protect. That isn't how a amp works, most likely it is the protection circuit catching the low ohm load. Regardless of voltage it won't matter. The ohm load is the problem due to them being strapped. Either unstrap which you said you can't or disable the protection circuit by modding the amp and risk the amp going up in smoke. You do understand what that protection circuit is doing Mr. I clip cuz it is louder. ?? AmmoJammo
Does anyone know how the short circuit protection in these amps work? I assume the Z1 and M4 use the same setup?
AMI CUSTOMS
Does anyone know how the short circuit protection in these amps work? I assume the Z1 and M4 use the same setup? You proved my point. You are on the point of catching some shit on fire asking questions like this, no disrespect but it is the truth. And yes it is most likely the same for both amps considering they are basically the same. AMI CUSTOMS
And since you don't want to seem to believe what people are telling you contact a company like dbr and ask them that same question and tell them what you are doing and see what they have to say. They repair and rebuild amps and know how to disable the protection circuit. AmmoJammo
I didn't ask how to disable the protection, I asked how it works? Do they monitor the amplifiers output current?
AMI CUSTOMS
I didn't ask how to disable the protection, I asked how it works? Do they monitor the amplifiers output current? Yes it is a set value AC current. If that is exceeded the amp goes into protect.
