Simple Amp Question

I'm still pretty new to the audio world help me out here. I am looking for an amp to run a lower wattage system off of but leave some room for expand ability.

If an amp says its rated at 1500 watts @ 1 ohm and rated 600 watts @ 2 ohm. So im fairly sure this means I could run 2x 300 watt woofers @ 2 ohms.

Does this mean that the amp needs to receive 1500 watts, and simply puts out 600 watts at 2 ohms? Or that you only need to feed the amp 600 watts if its putting out 600 watts?

1500rms = 150a ( current drawn to produce that rms) generally. but when you start getting into efficiecy the current draw could be more/less

600rms = 60a of current draw

down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups

yes 2 ohm load would pull around 60 amps

My setup,

Digital Designs M80

3 Re audio 10's ported tuned to 36 hz

Kenwood x-696

SHCA 0 gauge

Polk audio coax running off hu

sometimes your stock electrical can manage the 1500 watt amp, if starts dimming, do the big three, if still dimming replace stock battery to beefier one (can be used battery), if still dimming then add another battery, this should be your last step for a 1500watt amp.

the ohm load just make sure your sub and amp are on the same ohm load so u wont blow amp fuses.

I think you are making this complicated than it truly is. good luck
