need help finding amp for subs
naughtyca replied to toadking90's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
well vvx is not really a 600w sub, i ran them with 850w each and could take more, look at sky high cable for the 0ga and also use that for your big 3 so a 50ft should be suffcient for that and you can get away with 4ga from back batt to amps, u dont have to buy expensive batt as long as agm and highest AH you could find will work, walmart, sams club sometimes can have some sale on batteries or if you can find a place that refurbished batt -
need help finding amp for subs
naughtyca replied to toadking90's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
in my opinion it will be a wate to run 2ohm on an amp, it does not stress if its stable at 1 ohm, the clipping and the low voltage is the one that will stress the amp and not the ohm load, u can run the amp at 4ohm but if you do not have enough electrical to run it the low voltage will still stress the amp, i suggest get the d4 run a 1500w amp do your big three and an extra battery at the back. dont waste your money and run 2 ohm -

naughtyca replied to thegr8cody's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
do you have space to invert the sub? and yes you might be overthinking it, if the box is smaller just over power the subs -

help me find a crossover
naughtyca replied to naughtyca's topic in Sonic Electronix - Great Selection Great Prices
I understand passive or active, my amp does not have a good crossover for the tweeter so i cannot use that, if passive i need links on what to get. I dont think i need an active since i only need to cross the tweeters. -

help me find a crossover
naughtyca replied to naughtyca's topic in Sonic Electronix - Great Selection Great Prices
the only issue i have is the tweeter amp it has a weak crossover (rockford fosgate pbr 300x4) so i think i just need a passive, but I am open to active if nexessary, I will be running 3 amps, 1 for sub, 1 for mid and 1 for tweeters http://www.ebay.com/itm/121059836656?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 -

I need crossover for mid and super tweeter under 75 if possible -
Try these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_30429_DB_Drive_P5TW_1D.aspx http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAIR-AUDIOPIPE-1-TITANIUM-DOME-4-OHM-TWEETERS-100W-WATT-TOTAL-200W-CAR-AUDIO-/140904612693?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item20ce91c355 Crescendo is quiet compared to these http://www.ebay.com/itm/DB-DRIVE-P5TW-5D-1-75-200-Watt-Die-Cast-Tweeter-/360494079497?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item53ef1f1e09 I am looking at rockford PBR 300x4 to amp my tweeters you can get them for about $145, I like them because they are so small (size of a smart phone) but powerful 75x4 @4ohms, the only thing is its not bridgeable, but it will be perfect if you are running 4 tweeters @ 4ohms see how small they are

does it have to be VXI why not just get tweeters? I am also looking for tweeters 2 sets, Im leaning towards these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23673_Precision-Power-PPI-PT.2.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=productads&gclid=CMeKvaecn7UCFUxxQgodhnkAEQ

post in car audio dot com, there are a lot of box builders there, i would suggest bhe from floridaspl dot com but we are in florida freight might be too much but BHE makes awesome boxes for Skar since they are authorized dealer of them and they build them like crazy for Skar -
I agree, I am running 2 VVX 15 on a BRZ 1700.1d, remember these subs are only 600watts, if you want to run 2 1500watts you might want to get a bigger sub

VVX dual sub Sealed or Ported

I found out that staging on my head unit was hindering the output, I turned it off and my whole system came alive, I can tell a big difference on how loud and deep the bass is now, I am waiting for a show to get metered again to see where I will stand. -
Congratulations

Yup, I will correct myself if I'm wrong, below is what i found when i researched it "Some people claim that too little power can blow speakers. This is absolutely WRONG. Too little power will only cause the maximum output level to be low If driving a speaker with low power would cause them to fail, speakers would fail every time you lower the volume on the head unit."
