Can DD3515 work in a small-ish box?

Anyone had any experience with the DD3515g subs in small-ish ported boxes in a daily car (something like 3 - 3.5cuft with 40sqin port, 35hz tuning)?

I'm well aware that the box is smaller than Ideal but Its a choice between one 15" in a DD spec box or 2 in smaller ones (power ranging around 1200rms each for both boxes)

Will they work at all to a respectable extent? Or is the single a better Idea?

A 3515 on 3.4@35Hz around 50 square inches of port can still do well for daily, the thing is that if you are looking to buy these drivers likely you want your money's worth output wise.
