Benjamin Amparo Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 okay guys i was debating on which amp to get and i finally pulled the trigger on the ppi p 900.4. couple days ago i purchased the jbl 660c at the recommendation of few ppl on this forum so i was hoping to getting input on some ppl who own the jbl 660c. rms says 90 but i heard plenty of people say that can handle alot more so basically my question is how much power can these components take. the ppi amp pushes 225 watts per channel at 2 ohms and i just wanted to set my gains accordingly. thanks 97 Lexus ES 300 Source: clarion cs702 Front stage: faital pro 6fe200, seas prestige 27tafnc/g Subs: soundqubed hds212 x2 Amp: mids and highs PPI P900.4. subs Alpine MRP-M850
Skullz Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 My old school amp is capable of 150w + on 12v and since the speakers are 2 ohm i know i am running well over 200w per channel and they handle it like a champ. EDIT: Like i have said in other threads, make damn sure you deaden those doors cause when you start running over 100w ch they'll vibrate like a mofo. One more thing, make sure you high pass them at 80hz or you run the risk of ripping the surround on them. The surround on them is the achilles heel and they do not like over excursion and will rip. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
