Bus Bar/Electrical ????'s

Recommended Posts

I am needing a couple ?'s answered if someone will help here. 1st need to know what material is best to use for best results for bus bar between to batteries in trunk. I am adding a 2nd battery and also if someone can tell me if I have 2 runs of 0 gauge to rear battery do they both need fuse blocks in between both runs. Currently I have 2 runs of 0 gauge going to rear stinger battery and only one is fused with an 80 amp then from rear battery to both amps is a fused distribution block with 2 200 anl fuses. I have a bre2000.1d and a Diamond D6 700.4. My lights are still dimming after 1950 cranking amps from stock battery and spv70. I have 200 amp alt and big 3 done also so this is why I am adding 3rd battery. Thanks

Best metal for buss bars would be silver, but that's not practical. Copper would be the next best followed by aluminium. All your + runs between front and back batteries should look like this, front batt.-----fuse-----------------fuse-----rear batt. If your running full spec copper 1/0 gauge use 250 amp fuses for your runs between batteries

Aluminum has worked awesome for me, i´ll be updating the SPL gains topic soon with a test i did, wires directly to terminals vs aluminum 1/4" , works awesome, should work even better with thicker bars ;)
