Porting subs from rear deck of car? any thoughts?

I have a 03 Mitsubishi Lancer with a 2.89 cu ft Dual 4" precission ported enclosure( 1 on each side of the T1D212" sub) tuned to 34 hz firing toward the rear trunk opening with about 14" of space between the enclosure and back of the trunk. I am about to remove the T1652 coax speakers in the rear deck to install a set of T265 comp in rear doors. The speakers in the rear deck made for a sound stage i didnt care for and the image dynamics where over powering the T265 coms in front doors.

If i where to leave the deck mount hole open to rear trunk area would that help bass response or SQ letting it breath into the cab. My enclosure fits real tight from trunk floor to body cross member with a about 1 sq ft space on either side from inner fender wells up to trunk roof. The trunk is sealed up pretty tight to where i get a bit of trunk flex when subs hittin. Sub running on a older RF Power bd1000a1 putting out 500 watts in 4 ohms. Future upgrade to a T1500.

Any opinions or thoughts on this subject would be appreciated.

Thank you
