RCP Audio
Hey guys. I have a asus dsl n66u modem/router. It works fine for the Internet but I was wondering if I could use it as a router solely. The device I want to send signal from has cat5 out and when I connect this to the n66u it registers on the iPad for a second then it comes up on the iPad saying there is no telephone cable connected. Which there isn't as my device is connected to one of the 4 ports. Any ideas how I can use the n66u as only a router? If your wondering I'm using this with a digital sound console Any help is appriated!! I'm stuck and just dumped a decent amount of $$$ on this so I need it to work lol PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at. I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k. 1991 Mazda 323VERY small build thread here: http://www.stevemead...23-small-build/
beaker
So you're trying to go from Wifi, to a device thats connected with CAT5?
RCP Audio
The sound desk is connected to the router via Ethernet cable then I connect the iPad through wifi to control the console. I have a shitty ass old router/modem and it works fine. So I don't see why this one wont do a anything unless I have adsl plugged in PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. beaker
I think what you're looking for is more of a Wireless access point, which doesnt do routing at all, but it connects to a switch so that it will basicly put anything thats wireless on the same network. Did you check to see that all the devices are getting IP address's?
RCP Audio
Like I said, it works for a instant perfectly then the n66u works out that it doesn't have adsl connected and decides to send a error to the iPad So I guess I'm trying to figure out how I can turn off the adsl part if possible PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. Guest
It sounds like you're trying to remotely control your sound console from your ipad, which shouldn't require any internet as it's all local..with my experiences with ipads though, they're very selective with WAPs/wireless routers-so it's probably just an ipad issue with that model of router..considering how outdated ADSL is I would really assume that's what the problem is. RCP Audio
But it works for a second. Like I can see the console moving as I change it on the iPad. Then it comes up saying there is no adsl and boots me off. So I know it works. I just need to disable adsl or something Edit: spelling PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. beaker
It might be because the ipad doesnt see a connection to the internet over the wifi. I dunno. That seems like one of those things I'd have to physicly see, since I've never messed with it before.
