2006 Scion XB 2 SA12s and BRZ2100 4th order wall on Page 4

Finally got around to building the box. Still don't know if I need surgery yet, but got tired of dealing with the POS box that the guy gave me with the 12s. Major improvement to sound, both in quality and spl. Went with about 3.2 cubes (net) tuned to about 35hz with a pretty decent amount of port (7x7 square port) here are some pics. I am gonna get some threaded rod and brace it up. Went with birch plywood (first time with it). I love building with it but it flexes like hell.

Krakin did the design for this one, and we decided to try something besides a normal slot port. Although this is a lot more complicated to build, I like it. And the 45 at the bottom is awesome although you probably won't see it in any pics

Nm, found a pic with the 45 at the bottom, I watched the air move both with and without it (while spraypainting the port). The air movement with it in there is pure sex compared to without it. (the ugliness of the port has been sanded out and fiberglassed smooth, I cut both baffles same time with jigsaw lol)

Some more pics, vids will follow after bracing is done. Box flexes too much right now. I resined the shit out of the inside and made double sure the top sealed with some fiberglass.

That is pretty much all for now. It will of course be carpeted in the very near future and I may try to trim it out a bit like the box for my 8s, but I don't have as much room to play with this time so the trim won't be near as easy to add lights and windows and stuff. We will see what happens

It does (and it should lol) I am still looking at getting the Cadence C2 here in the next couple of weeks too. I am gonna clamp the brz later but I don't feel like I am getting what I should out of it.

So, I went to a local show this afternoon and managed to hit 147.0 but I don't really trust it, as it wasn't on a termlab. If I had to guess, I am at least 3-4 db lower than that. I have sat in enough vehicles doing upper 140s and lower 50s that I just don't feel like I am there lol. But I feel pretty confident in saying I would be in the lower 140s on a termlab. Pics are on wife's phone (mine was hooked to head unit). Will try to post the pic here in a bit.

edit: This was sealed btw with mic being held by hand on the dash. I could have potentially hit 150 on that meter outlaw lol.

Update. Got crazy this weekend and built/designed a 4th order wall for the 12s. It is a 1:3ish ratio with around 2.2 sealed and just under 7 cubes ported at 50hz with 115 inches of port (16.7 per cube)

It is ugly right now but will slowly be looking better. Working on uploading pics right now.

Finally got photobucket rolling again. Here is the sealed portion being built

Was too busy measuring and cutting to take loads of pictures during the rest of the build, but I have some pics of the box in the car. Trim work, and sealing off from the back still to come, as well as cleaned up wiring for the amp. The line on the left side of the box is not a corner (kinda looks like it but isn't). That is where the sealed portion meets the ported.

Hopefully I will get a video or two up here in the next day or two. I have to coach little league tonight, and have to go take care of some landlord shit at my rental property in VA tomorrow night, but either Fri or Sat I should be able to make a vid or two. It moves a good bit more air than the last box, and it will likely improve once I get it sealed off and trimmed out.

I was around 140 or so with the 2 12s in the old box, I am hoping for 2-3 more out of them in this one. First bandpass I have ever built though, so who knows lol.
