lostinmiself Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 So being a newer member i figured i would start out a build. I have a 1998 Chevy z71 extended cab i got at an auction for $1300. Being a lover of loud i immediately installed some subs. Wanting to retain the backseat in case i had to take my daughter in the truck somewhere i purchased a prefab box, threw 2 kicker 10"s(Those kickers are single 4ohm dropped to 2ohm) with a RFP500.1 amp in there. Alpine CDA-105(soon to be a CDA-9885). Was nice for a while, but me being me I'm never satisfied with what i have decided to upgrade. So i threw some HERTZ HCX 165's in the doors and started thinking as to how to upgrade my subs. Lucky for me i know a few bass heads in my neck off the woods who compete on the west coast a lot and they convinced me to look into DC. So i did some research and planned on getting 4 of the DC8s. But i found a deal on some Sundowns so far I'm in $250 for 3SD D4 8"s. One with a bad coil the other two brand new. I have to find a final 4th but i don't think that will take long. I will get some photos of the truck and what i have now soon. I still wanted to keep the back seat, but upon some more research and thought i might ditch it for a more efficient box (i mean you can still throw a car seat in the front seat right? lol) I will have the box built for me by Justin Yeo so i cant go wrong there. This is a daily driven work truck...i just cant go without pissing off the public or I'm not doing it right!! yay RF P500.1 CDA105 The HERTZ Yay for some pre-fab box!
lostinmiself Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Posted March 17, 2013 sold the prefab box and kickers yesterday, box build begins Tues or wed my sa8s should be here Monday or Tues as well, and got prices on SD recones $42, unfortunately with sundowns slow response rate i don't think i will be able to compete at the end of the month but i will sure do MY best to try

Possibly got a lead on a 4th today im chasing, and going to start the box tonight when justin is off work kind of dead for readers and what not....probably will abandon soon

lostinmiself Posted July 20, 2013 Author Report Posted July 20, 2013 Been a HUGE development since i have been on, Got my box built for the lows of 33hz from the Legendary Justin Yeo, then about a week later had 4 SA8s 2 at 4ohms, 2 at 2 ohms and ran a tsunami 1100D at .5ohms and for first in my class with a 135.5 on a TL, then i got them reconed and they are all 2ohms. Been running that setup with 660w/4 subs at 2ohms. Got my Crossfire BMF2000D today and im going to go throw it in and see how that works out on that 600w/4 im sitting 138.5 doors closed and windows down at 33hz on the TL
