So we are looking at 225+lbs in a trunk this thing is gonna be heavy. Got get the airshocks off the blown olds and put on the caddy with just the single 12 in the trunk + box is about 115lbs and the rear end in squatting bad. wL<3bass
Well its pretty gay to say the least all that work for nothing, theres something wrong with the voice coils, it hits but it makes and unbearable scratching sound, a sound I have never heard in my life. For the record the sub, amp, and everything was wired properly, must be a faulty woofer. Check on multiple amps rewirded and its just bad bad bad bad. I hate to hear that, I have had the same thing happen to me when I bought a kove armageddon and it was used but I got it for like 40 bucks and it sounded good till half volume and then it roared on a good note, I ended up finishing it off with a wall socket. Too bad I didn't pick it up for $40 I wish  , the shipping on the thing was more than that....it was over $300 + the brand new Hifonics BXi20006d and the guy wont respond so basically that money is down the drain. Talked to Pioneer and they don't sell soft parts nor do they repair subs..... So basically have a 75+lbs of box that takes up space and a 75lb massive paper weight. I don't know what to do, I might get my dad to throw the box back in and use the blown woofer as a passive radiator. Hate to say it but after this I don't think he is gonna do anymore car audio installs, for him at least, I was sick too and worked on this thing for like 20 hours... in the cold like 20 degrees outside with little or no heat the whole time. The sad thing is before we ever added all this stuff I wanted to test the woofer but figured it wasn't necessary..... OHHHH how I was extremely negligent and lazy in not doing so. After this episode I'M NEVER BUYING ANOTHER THING OF ANY SORT OF VALUE OFF THE INTERNET UNLESS ITS FROM AN AUTHORIZED RETAILER :excl: :excl:   BTW this is all in my dad's caddy not my car cause im a poor high school kid that loves audio & BASS! This is the first system that made my ears really hurt... It is LOUD. wL<3bass
This is the first car with subs in trunk that actually made my ears hurt (felt like some1 was stabbing my ear drums with a screwdriver) Edited March 6, 2008 by wL<3bass Quote Vehicle: 1997 S10 Blazer 4dr 4X4 Exterior: Rear End Bagged, Black Grill, Lifted 2" Amplifiers: Rockford Fosgate T8004 & T10001bd Batteries: 2 Stinger SPV35, Kinetik HC2400 Electrical: Big 3, DC Power 290amp Alternator w/ MLA at 15.5v Enclosure: 4.2 ft³ @ 33Hz 84sq.in. of port (20sq.in. per cube) Headunit: Eclipse CD3200 w/ 80G iPod Mids/Highs: Rockford T152s (a-pillars), Rockford T162s (doors) Subwoofers: 1 15" Fi BL Fully Loaded Wire: All 1/0g Kicker Hyperflex My YouTube Videos My Fiberglass A-Pillar Build My "Seamless" Looking Box Build My DD1508 T-Line Bandpass Build "Seamless" w/ Acrylic Windows (for '05 TrailBlazer) My Stealth 8" Fiberglass Build (for '05 TrailBlazer) My Build For A Friend's '08 Cobalt 15" BL Sealed Off From The Trunk My feedback/references... wL<3bass
If you look that is two Hifonics BXi2006d stacked about 1/2inch of space (they dont get warm at all some heat is no prob) The wires are a mess this is temp until it gets warmer and we can really make it hot, still need to get new power wire, HO alt, Kinetik hc2400 maybe two. That is some locomotive wire my dad got from work it got a hypalon jacket and its tough to strip lol, but 0gauge nonetheless.
