Natsuru Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 Ok, so you all remember the Boss 15"s going thermonuclearSo the first Sundown E-15 came in the mail a few days agoMy dad kept complaining about how it needed to be in a giant sealed box, and he pays the bills, so I decided to just go with his ideasAll I can say is, damnI was originally going to put two of them in the old Boss box, but I seriously don't think my car would be alive for very long with thatONE of these in the sealed box seriously sounds twice as loud as both the boss subs in the vented boxAlso, Apparently I didn't really know crap about excursion before, because the logo on this thing seriously looks like a hologram it's moving out so farSo, would I actually see much benefit from getting a second one in the old vented box, or is one probably sufficient? Also, thank you, kind sundown 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/
Polish Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 If the old box isn't tuned properly for the Sundowns then I'd stick with a sealed box for now. (Edit - you could stick both in the old box and just seal the ports shut) Then once you can build one to the proper specs for the Sundowns and you'll be even more impressed. If the single E15 sealed is blowing you away, a properly ported pair will make you lose your mind. A 7-8 cu/ft box tuned from like 33-36hz will really get down with that pair of 15's, they don't have to be sealed the E series works fine in either per Sundown.
