hi, i just purchased a 2007 civic a couple days ago and now im starting to plan my build for this summer. so far i have the sub already its a mach5 ixl 15 dual 2 ohm (http://www.istonline.ca/mach5_ixl_15.html) and now what i want to buy is a

massive audio nx5 (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_29644_Massive_Audio_NX5.aspx)

polk audio 6.5 comp (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_23102_Polk_Audio_db6501.aspx)

audiocontrol lc2i (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_28505_AudioControl_LC2i.aspx)

all the wiring is gonna be 0 gauge welding cable and big 4 done too. also ill be getting some dynamat and some 14 gauge speaker wire.

Now for the sub i have a 2.5cuft sealed box for the 15, id be looking into making a nice ported box for it later on. I'd like to have some input on my selection of components and what tunning freq 8th gen civic like.

Also, for the amp to get full 5 channel operation do i need 1,2 or 3 sets of rcas?

I see 3 sets of RCA inputs on that amp, so im going to guess, 3. For the box. 3Cu ft tuned to 33Hz with a port area per foot of around 13 and you should be good.

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

ok 33hz tunning for daily? subs fs is 21 why tune so much higher? Also whats best for dubstep?

Well the more port you have, the more it will have a peakier response, and have less of a bandwidth. Also, as with tunings, the less port you have, the higher you are able to tune, while still having the ability to hit low. WIth the subs having that Fs, which is actually 23, it will also allow them to handle notes under the tuning frequency a lot better, so there is need to tune really low to still have a good low end. If you even want, try 34-35Hz tuning with even less port, going a bit under 13 and have a wider, but flatter response. My box has 15.15sq in of port or so, and it only hits 40hz and up incredibly well, under that is shit. Next box I am going to have signicifanctly less port so I can have a wider respsonse, and actually still be decently loud, but have a larger bandwidth to play.
