mnrookie
So my plan is to run 4 aq2200d's on 2 hdc4 18's. 2 Strapped at 2 ohm per sub. 4 XS D3100 in the back and 1 XS D3400 up front. I already have a tejcurrent dual/triple alt bracket that I was going to use. I contacted Singer and told me to use either 3 250 amp alts or 3 275 amp alts. According to Ed in this thread http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155585-how-to-2-270-ho-alts-on-1-battery-bank/ I did some math and figured around 606 Amps (after 20% loss). So knowing this I was going to go with 2 300 Amp alts or 2 350. Thinking the latter just to be safe. Do I need to get 3 or should I just go with the 2 higher amp? Ben Fultz
If you go with 3 smaller alternators you will have less chance of belt slippage and better charging at idle.
