Clif
So im starting a new build for the truck, I plan to do 4 15"s I dont know what kind yet... I just cant decide if i want it to be sealed or vented. Im not making a wall, and plan to do it with fiberglass. im used to making sealed enclosures and listening to them slam!! i have not made to many vented ones nor am i a fan of them, mainly cause around here i havent herd of any good ones. So the questions comes, should i make it sealed or ported? What do you think is better overall? 01xtreme
most of the time ported boxes are louder. If you can build one and tune it properly, I think it will outperform a sealed box. what ind of subs are you planning on running? Clif
It most deffintally should by far outperform a sealed box is built and designed well well i got time to build one i think i can tune it good if i can figure out what it is suposed to be at. i wanna stay away from a wall build, and i will be having many curves on the box. so i dont know how i would go about putting a vent in it, maby in the back facing up? Clif
if i make a box dose it matter where i put the vents? dose it matter if all 4 subs are in 1 chamber or in 4 diffrent chambers with there own vents? what would be a good cu ft size for them, and how big of a vent? 20inBMX
All four subs can be in he same chamber it doesn't effect anything. As far as port/sub placement, usually subs and port on the same plane works well OR you can do a CRX style which is where the subs are on the top and the port facing the rear. Box/port size differs from sub to sub. What Are you using???
