Cardboardcat15
Whats up with the substage? Box retuning and subamp? Text me. Sent you a text bro. Hope its not too late lol As for everyone else following the build log, I was having some issues with output with the system. What I'm gonna do is shrink the box (on the 3500) just to test things, if it turns out to be louder then I'll keep the shrinks. If not I'll pull em out and wait on the 500.1. Either way, after I'm done testing the Shrinks I'll work on the port if it needs it. As for the amp, just waiting on a quote. Also, I've got a new Headunit in the works. I've had issues with my signal spiking up and diminishing the past few weeks, and it sucks. One moment it's loud hte next it's quiet as shit. So I'm replacing the Headunit and RCA's. and my new 4 channel is shipping to my house tomorrow SO that should definitely be in by friday. My Channel on YouTube. Cardboardcat15
hay guys some pichurz, got my amp in :v) Yes that is a dual 8g ground. I though I had more 4g but I was apparently all out, and stereo shops around me are closed/sell shitty fucking wire. ANYWAY this amp rocks. It looks awesome and is awesome. Pylles are now a bit too loud for me to bear at full tilt, It's very uncomfortable lol This is non active mind you, on a crossover from a set of 50w MB Quart components. So it's only to get worse from here lmao. I am a very happy camper. My Channel on YouTube. Cardboardcat15
This week I'm gonna go ham as possible. The holidays are over and I have some free time to work on the truck and let it sit if I don;t get things done before dark. SO HERES WHAT I GOT DONE TODAY. ONLY GOT TO WORK LIKE 4 HOURS ON IT CAUSE I WAS RESTRICTED TO USING MY SISTERS CAR lol. Aluminum bar 4ft for 12 bux @ lowes I love these little shits. 4 for 3 bucks at harbor freight. Cut through the truck bed and Aluminum bar like buttah! Marked up Blade got a bit dirty lol Cut to size Having a Uni-bit made this job a thousand times easier. Holy shit. Here's what the buss bars are gonna look like IF I NEED ANY MORE HARDWARE ON THESE BOLTS TO KEEP THEM FROM RATTLING LOOSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I have no clue if what I've got will suffice. Last thing I want are loose wires flappin around. Wen't to ace and got the hardware there for the buss bars, along with some hex head screws for my terminal posts. Gonna clean up the engine bay quite a bit. Little fuckers are expensive as shit! (especially when you need 16 of them lol) can't wait to get them in! Yeah, I know. The hole is way too big for 8 runs of wire, but it's in the corner of the bed. So with a jigsaw making a smaller hole was impossible. I could care less anyway, give's me space for more wire in the future. My ingenious idea. Took the leftovers from my accordian boot and cut the edges to fit around the hole I cut to grommet it off. Worked like a charm and doesn't move at all. Looks like shit but oh how it works. starting on the engine bay. My Channel on YouTube. Cardboardcat15
Adding 1 more run of + and - so I have to use some wire from the corolla build. It is audiopipe wire, but hell it works just fine. Only issue is it's hard as rock. Does NOT like to bend. Terminals I was given gratis vie Johnnyabc101. Thanks man! This is what I bought all those hex head screws for. Left is sanded down and cleaned. Other isnt. Wrapped the bottoms and sides up in electrical tape. Don;t know if this hurts conductivity at all ( i doubt it) but I'm just being safe. Kind of paranoid of having two giant charged metal blocks in my engine bay. MUCH better! The end result will look even cleaner, but for now this is the idea. cutting the neg run to length. This stuff is so stiff. ran the last two wire runs. Thank god for box frames. the last run of wire wouldn't fit through the provided holes in the frame, so I had to improvise the last run. Needless to say I think I did a pretty damn good job. I used the last of the accordian boot to shield the edge of this lip the wire is hanging on. I doubt it would cause any issues, but I wanted to be safe. It's my first time running wire underneath a car and I'm paranoid lol. Another angle. That;s all I got done today. I started early but had to stop for about an hour and a half half way through since I had to pick up my sister from work so i could give her back her car since I borrowed it to get all my hardware (terminals were off the truck to thread match them, couldn't drive it). I'll re-fuse the wires to clean up the engine bay and terminate everything else tomorrow. After that I'll start on trim panels for the back! My Channel on YouTube. Cardboardcat15
Got some more work done today. Not as much as I'd like since I woke up a little late but oh well. I'll hit it extra hard tomorrow. Trim panels for the back. Gettin there One reason why I stopped working. THE BLOCK WAS HOT. Saw two guys running down my street and around the corner, didn't think much of it. Bout a minute later a bike cop zoomed around my corner and hauled ass down the street. Thought maybe it was just a small offense. NOPE. Motherfuckers had 15 cop cars on my street, some unmarked/uncover. They posted in front of an house about 6 addresses down and then surrounded the neighbor hood. The guys were hoppin fences in peoples backyards. Eventually they got the dogs on em and one of the guys left on a stretcher. Nice little event to spice up my afternoon lol. top trim panels lookin good. Now that I have an idea of how my trim panels are going to work I finally cleaned up my wiring. And this is what the end result will look like. Tomorrow I'm gonna wrap the panels in carpet and then clean up the engine bay wiring. My Channel on YouTube. mrd6
Nice progress man! I know you mentioned something about sufficient the hardware for the batts....do you have lock washers on there? That's the only thing you may want to consider adding if you haven't already My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
Cardboardcat15
A good foot pursuit is always fun, gotta love MoVal!! Progress is looking great, man. Gotta hear the CT. Doesn't sound like much. Since the PA gear has good power on it now they sound really dry. Gonna run em active and maybe even them out a bit from the EQ on the new deck coming in. If I can't get em to sound nicer I'll probably redo the doors with some nice components lol. BUT you're more than welcome to hear it LOL My Channel on YouTube.
