Box/Port help for Zv3 18

Recommended Posts

ok cool, and yeah those things wont take up much space. it might rise the tuning ~ 0.5hz but you won't even notice that small of an increase.

so even for SPL the 1 8" aeroport is enough port?

rule of thumb for aero's is 8-12in^2 per cube. you could move up to a 10" aero but a few thing will happen. for example, the larger diameter port will have to be much longer to have the same tuning frequency as the smaller port, this means it's going to take away alot more air from inside the box. but for a 10" aero here you go:

box will be 4.25 cubes net @ 39hz, port is 25.5" long, with 18.47 sq in of port per cube.

yea i think for now ill probly just try a single 8" aero port because i already have 2 of them laying around. and isnt 18.69 sq-in per cube to much for a 4.2 cube box? thats d@mn near free airing

yes 18.47 sq in per cube is a lot for any box, it doesn't matter how big the box is because 18.47 is a lot for 1 cube and 100 cube's. so yeah just go for the 8"

i guess thats what i will do, start with 1 8" port for now, see how it works. if that dont work i may just try to make a 10, but i have no clue where to get 10in flares
