brianm113 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 I've always found it to be louder if it's FULLY sealed off from the trunk facing forwards, but that's not always the case with everyone. that's what I have heard, I was just concerned because i've never been able to face a box forwards and have it sound even a little good...but it was never sealed off from the trunk....I'll definitely go for it and see what happens though because that's what I've heard about most trunk builds
brianm113 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 does anybody wanna design a box for me....3.5 cubes tuned to 35? max dimensions: 40"W, 16.5"H, 30"D...port doesn't matter whether its slot or aeroport whatever whoever may wanna do this thinks will work best
Joe X Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Done to your specs, probably will need to build inside: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 35 HzVb = 7 ft^3External Height = 16.5 inExternal Width = 39.5 inExternal Depth = 28.25 inPort Width = 6 1/2 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2x Front = 16 1/2 x 152x Front Internal = 15 x 15Back = 39 1/2 x 15Left & Right Sides: 26 3/4 x 15Top & Bottom = 39 1/2 x 28 1/4Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts:2 x Front to Back = 18 1/4 x 15 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide.- All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.- This box should be operated around subwoofer(s) rated power. If that´s not the case, let me know.- The port needs 6 1/2" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.

Definitely gonna have to build inside I was already planning on that. However a couple questions: It says the box should be operated around the woofers rated power...which on the sa15s is 600 rms each but they can take more I am giving them 600 each now but will soon be giving them 1050 each...will that change things? and it says there should be 6-1/2" of airspace in front of the port...can there be more?
brianm113 Posted June 21, 2013 Author Report Posted June 21, 2013 also how would i go about attaching the bottom to the sides while in the trunk?
