Go-N-Def Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 im working on the box this min. my actual port is 17.50 the depth of the box is 18 so when it comes to bending the port the actual part dont even out of the port. 17.50 stops somewhere along the .75'' of the port wall. this might be hard to understand, let me know if i have to explain more. Yo dog i heard you like boxes. so i put a box inside a box so you can bass while you FAIL
Jessica Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 Need to know what the port width is, and if it is a round or square port (like an "L" port). Maybe a sketch of what you are trying to do. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. Go-N-Def Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 Box 18x30x18 double baffled. Port 16.50x3 22 l actual port says 17.50 Yo dog i heard you like boxes. so i put a box inside a box so you can bass while you FAIL
CleanSierra Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 As you take the run of the port wall to the back of the box, stop the distance from the back wall that is the WIDTH of the port. Cut that piece to stop the distance of the port width. To continue your port, take a tape measure and from the MIDDLE of the port opening, measure the additional length you need to complete your TOTAL port length and then cut THAT piece. Pretty simple Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Go-N-Def Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 did th As you take the run of the port wall to the back of the box, stop the distance from the back wall that is the WIDTH of the port. Pretty simple i did that but when i stop my lenght is somewhere in the 3/4'' the is the mdf, unless im doing it wrong. im starting from the baffle then coming in 15'' or so 3'' before the back wall then for the turn. it doesnt pass the port wall. CleanSierra Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 So stop your length that runs parallel to the side of the box 3" short of the back wall of the enclosure. This SHOULD be a13.5" long section. then get a tape measure, measure down the CENTER if the port opening and run PERPENDICULAR(along the back side of the box) and you should have an additional 8.5" piece. Obviously accounting for the.75" of the wood itself. And I don't know if you started the port wall flush with the baffle, or in.75" either, which van obviously affect total port length as well. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 If you're starting from the baffle, you would want 14.25" to leave 3" of clearance from the back wall. Then to get your additional length, you'll run the rest of the port along the back side of the enclosure. THE extension that you cut, should be a 4" by 16.5 Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I started at the most outter part of the box including the baffle. but i was told this week that we use actual port not the lenght typed in port dimen Yo dog i heard you like boxes. so i put a box inside a box so you can bass while you FAIL
CleanSierra Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 So 14.25"X16.5" for long section, 4"X16.25 for port extension. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
