mrd6
So I am working on redoing my door pods for a new front stage and the drivers I want to use seem to model better in a small ported chamber than in a small sealed chamber. (My doors do not allow for running IB into the door body airspace itself. The question is, are the mids going to be able to hold up ported when the substage is beating the piss out of everything full tilt moving buckets of air? I have this vision of the mid drivers acting like passive radiators in a sense and when my wall plays the low notes it causes them to unload/bottom out. Is this a legitimate concern? Does anyone have experience running ported mids with a mid 150s substage? TaylorFade
When people run ported midbass, they usually port into the frame rail or outside the car. But yeah... I can see some breakupp happening at 150+. Nature of the beast, really. If they model better ported, go ported. I can't imagine the sub stage will affect them any more or less than any other alignment.
Lyferxb9s
So far mine are holding up well in the high 40s.
mrd6
I was planning to port forward into the kick. I'll give it a shot then it sounds like, worst case scenario I can just plug em up.
