Airborne
I was trying to work out an enclosure for my 1991 Z28 on Torrez and couldn't seem to work it out. I have a 6" aero port that I thought about using but the tuning would be way too high, that is if I was using Torrez right. I also tried 2 4" ports with pretty much the same results. The area I have to work with is L30xD11xH14. I am putting it in the spare tire area/cargo area with the subs and port(s) facing up. Any suggestions? I am actually going to post a build log here for once.lol Thanks in advance for the help. Airborne edit=forgot to mention that I want it tuned to 32hz or so... Joe X
If you want sub and port in the same face I would recommend something like this: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 34 HzVb = 1.3 ft^3External Height = 13 inExternal Width = 29.5 inExternal Depth = 13 inPort Width = 2 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:Front = 26 3/4 x 11 1/2Back = 29 1/2 x 11 1/2Left & Right Sides:Side 1 = 11 1/2 x 11 1/2Side 2 = 12 1/4 x 11 1/2Top & Bottom = 29 1/2 x 13L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 9 1/2 x 11 1/2Extension = 22 3/4 x 11 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- This box should be operated around subwoofer(s) rated power. If that´s not the case, let me know.- The port needs 2 5/8" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested. Joe X
You ca make a little taller or wider to reduce length, whatever works for you.
Airborne
Joe, you are the man! Would it change the tuning too terribly much if I added 3" to the height and took that from the length? I'm thinking adding to the port height may change things.
Joe X
I recalculated the above so that it's within 30"W and keep the same specs.
