having a hard time with this one

Recommended Posts

so i was gonna pull my back seat out but if i do that i would have to break into the 150 with 2 t2d415 on a t1500.1bdcp until i upgrade to a 2500.1bdcp. i just dont see that happening, dont see it happening with the 2500.1 either ( atleast not with these subs ). so im keeping my back seat to stay in the lower classes and i can go up to 39" wide 19" d 19" h.

so far with playing around on torres i came up with 2 diferent boxes

1. 19" h x 39" w x 19" d 2 6" ports 12" long, 5.53cuft after displacements tuned to 39hz (38.91) 56.52" port volume port up sub back

2. same as above, 4 4" ports 14" long 5.49cuft tuned to 35hz (35.26) with 50.24" port volume port up sub back

i like lows but still want to try and get to 145+db. the best i did was with 2 t2d412 port up subs up in 4cuft slot port with roughly 64" of port tuned to 43 hz. peak was around 45hz. did a 143 on the dash port was on the passenger side termlab score. oh and it was with my t1500.1bdcp but i do want to get a t2500.1bdcp.

from what ive read doubling power can yeild up to 3db gain, then the bigger subs could gain a little for me to. im hoping to reach 147 with this setup all in the trunk on the dash sealed up but still do good for daily.

edit: forgot to mention that its a 2000 ford focus 2door hatcback, had a 4 door hatchback before this that did its best at about 51hz with sub and port back firing and i peaked around 45hz with the 2 t2d412 in this car facing up but 64" of port in a 4cuft box lowered my peak freq from what ive read/been told. resonant freq from what ive been told is around 51hz.

just your opinion what box would you do?

t1500bdcp

2 t2d4 15"

1 t600.4

1 t400.2

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
