Gravlin216 Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 I have a 02 Grand am GT,i hvae 1400 watts total a 2 farad cap and 0awg front to back.Today i did some research and upgraded the big 3 to my knowladge,this is what i did.I ran all 0awg ,from alternator to battery with a inline fuse with 3-100 mini fuses in it in front of battery,then ran from my driver side strut tower to my negative on battery then thought i was taking a easy route wich i think is my prob and just grounded the engine from my alternator mounting bracket to my passenger strut tower,wich i read right before i did it that its fine to do that.I also used some brand new Gm side post battery adapters and i left all stock connections hooked up.i purchased everything from knukoncepts.com and also soldered everything together thanks to steve for that tutorial....anyways my cap reads the same as before but i swear it hits so much harder now, and my lights still dim at night wich was the main reason i did it.someone please help i wanna be able to listen to my music as loud as i want day or night without looking stupid with my lights flashing driving down the road..i forgot to mention i kept my stock battery in the car if that matters,I also grinded every connection to bare metal...Please help!

hankfan79 Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 A additional battery is 100 times better than a cap. Sounds like you did a fine job with the wiring. I would suggest a AGM battery replacement for your old one. Then maybe a additional battery in the back. I run about the same power with no dimming. Only one battery..but I have a H/O alternator.
