about to upgrade need advice

So I want to put 2 fi sp4 18's in my Tahoe and run them each off of a kicker zx2500. I currently have 1 run of 0 ga to the rear with 2 stinger spv44's powering 1 zx2500 and a dx400.4. I want to add a 2nd zx2500, and a 2nd dx400.4. I'm going to switch to kinetik 2000's.

So here is my question, if I put a kinetik 2000 under the hood, what size alt do I need to upgrade to, how many kinetik 2000's should I put in the rear to run all 4 amps, and how many runs of 0 ga should I run?

Personally I would go with XS Power. (www.4xspower.com) and Mechman for an alt. 6000 watts is roughly 400 amps of current at 14.4 volts. So technically you would need around a 400 amp alt. You could get by with a 300 or 350 if you have the right batteries.

Makes since. I would look on Amazon and compare prices of the XSs and Kinetiks. I don't know a lot about Kinetiks so I can't tell you what you should get but the alt info is good.

If I was to go with the 300 amp alt and sense my current run of 0 ga is using 300 amp fuseswould I need more than 1 run? Because kicker recommends 300 amp fuses per zx2500

I would do AT LEAST 2 runs of 0 to the back. And 300 amp fuse on each run to the batteries. Than a 300 amp fuse off the batts to the amp.

So 2 runs of 0 ga with 300 fuses will cover 2 300 amp amps and 2 80 amp amps? Just thinking basic math is confusing me here.

i would do atleast 3-5 runs of 0 gauge with the biggest alt you can get. batteries are a reserve, you will be pulling up to 600amps just from the 2 2500.1. thats twice what a 300amp alt puts outs on a good day. once the stereo pulls more then the alt can put out your pulling from the batts and getting voltage drop.

as for the amount of batts im not sure the different spec on different kinectics but i would do the biggest ones you can get and 1-2 per 2500 plus 1 for the 2 400.1. looking at 3-5batts plus 1 under the hood. get solid ground to the frame for the alt and batts. or do 1/0 runs of ground from the rear batts to the front.

i would rather overkill it then under do it though..

If I get a 300 amp alt would more than 1 run of 0 ga be needed sense it has 300 amp fuses already on the run? And 3 of the batteries in the rear plus 1 under the hood should be enough if I'm not running the system at full blast the whole time I'm listening to it, right? I just want to make sure I don't under do it.
