Brian Synott Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 alright so i have not had any problems until today. so i turn on my deck.0 volume a noise can be heard coming from the sub woofer.almost a heartbeatish noise.with the vehicle off its not that bad.putting the volume at 32 doesn't really increase the noise at all.adds static but doesn't make the heartbeat louder.a thud thud happens if i use my power windows or locks.and i turn the car on.it sounds like music is playing when nothing is plugged in not even my radio antenna.but its static and distorted and plays like that at 0 volume with no source of music connected. ive been trying to avoid playing music or even turning the deck on because it makes these noises and it ONLY comes from the sub woofer even tho my mids and highs are ALSO connect just through RCA's. ive checked grounds.powers.remote wires.fuses..not really sure how to check rca's other then to run new ones which is alot of work for nothing if it doesnt solve the problem. totally boggled my mind.
guzz95 Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 is it possible to power your sub with your amp for your highs. If you do that and the noise goes away, it's probably your sub amp. If the noise is still there it can be your subs. As for your RCA's instead of running some new ones all hidden, can you remove your HU connect some new ones and free air them to your sub amp to see If noise goes away.
T.A.G. Audio Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Your rca's are receiving a signal noise from some type of power cable. Probably your amps power. Run your power wire and rca's on opposite sides of the vehicle... 03 Ford f150 2 Sa8 v2s Ap 1800d... bbeljefe Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Without more information, it sounds like an internal problem with the subwoofer amp. With the vehicle not running, there should be nothing that can make a cyclical noise interfere with the inputs on the sub amp so it's likely not a ground problem outside the amp... unless it's the head unit. You say your mids and highs are connected via RCAs but they can't be directly connected, so I'm assuming you have a separate amplifier for them and that they're not being driven by the amplifier in the head unit? If the former, can you do as the above poster mentioned and swap the inputs for the sub and mid/high amps and see if the problem follows the amps or the head unit? The more information you can provide, the more help you can get. Do have a multimeter or access to one? If you crank the vehicle with no music playing, does the problem get worse? Have you tried playing music through the system and if so, what was the result? Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
