mattie
I'm going with a single 12" and from what I see I need around 2 - 2.5 cube box and torres keeps telling me to complex to compute or something like that so I guess I don't know how to use it properly. Here's what I have room wise. 34" wide 30" deep 14" tall Can go taller but trying to keep it low for security reasons.Looking for a slot port with sub and port forward. I'll have a little over 1k watts on it right now and might strap another amp later. Its going in my samurai and I'm wanting it to still bump my country but get low when I play bass cd's. I already have a 12" in a prefab slot port and I'm aware of how the kick drum sounds with that style of box and I'm good with it. I play country and rap only. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Joe X
Ok so here's what you requested: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 32 HzVb = 2.25 ft^3External Height = 14 inExternal Width = 29.5 inExternal Depth = 18 inPort Width = 2 3/4 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:Front = 26 x 12 1/2Front Internal = 24 1/2 x 12 1/2Back = 29 1/2 x 12 1/2Left & Right Sides:Side 1 = 16 1/2 x 12 1/2Side 2 = 17 1/4 x 12 1/2Top & Bottom = 29 1/2 x 18L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 13 3/4 x 12 1/2Extension = 16 x 12 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.- All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.- The port needs 2 3/4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested. mattie
Thank You JoeX. I see it tuned to 34hz , how low will it play too? I know jack about how these boxes work.
Joe X
The soft top doesn't help, specially the deep lows, you can tune lower likely at the cost of some loudness.
mattie
Stupid question, to tune it lower would you extend the port or does the box have to be redisigned? Thank you for your help I really appreciate it and as soon as it stops raining I'm going to get supplies and start on this box.
Joe X
Whatever it needs it takes me a minute, never mind about that, just let me know what you want to do.
mattie
I just want it to play in the mid 20's is all. I plan on making it a hardtop sometime, hopefully soon. You think the sacrifice in loudness will be very noticeable?
Joe X
It's going to be noticeable if you tune too low like below 30Hz.
