4ohm 500w x2 or 2ohm x1 900w

ok

so ive got an alpine Type X

it will run at 2 or 4 ohms.

i have a kenwood KAC 9401-D amp.

how should i wire it?! drop the sub to 2ohms or run it at 4ohms?!

That is a mono amp. It has one channel not 2. It's 500X1 @ 4ohm and 900X1 at 1ohm and 2ohm

What coils do you have on your subs, are the 2ohm coils, 4ohm coils?

Never mind, i see you have the 1243D, so its dual 4ohm. So wire all the positives together to the amp +, and all the negatives to the amp negative,.

in other words, wire it in parallel.

I'll try to find a diagram if i can.

I don't know how he's going to get to run at either 2 or 4 ohms...unless he means he can buy either the D2 or the D4 but it sounds like he's already got it...

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

He should just wire to 2ohm, he has one d4 sub.

If he wants he can get a second and wire down to 1ohm. The 9105d will handle 1ohm fine.
