OrzechNJ Posted June 24, 2013 Report Share Posted June 24, 2013 as the title says.. my friends Lincoln stops blowing cold air when the engine is on higher rpms.. basically if it goes over 70 mph the ac doesnt work .. and it usually turns back on on lower speed.. even on parking when I put more gas it stops working.. any ideas?? sometimes Loud is NOT pretty Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over. Evan_P Posted July 5, 2013 Report Share Posted July 5, 2013 Most Ford's of that vintage use a vacuum actuator to control the blend door. When there is less vacuum in the engine, like at higher speeds, there is not enough vacuum to keep it in the A/C position and so it opens up for warm air to come in. I don't know where the actuator would be on a Lincoln, but chances are the line running to it is cracked or broken as they tend to deteriorate with age. Look for it on the heater box somewhere.
