walwalka
I'm purchasing a AB XFL 15 and I need to build a box for it. I'm looking to tune the bax to 32 hz and fit in the trunk of a honda civic. I need help with the box plans. My trunk opening is: 18in tall by 35in wide Once in the trunk there is: 19in tall 36in wide Between the rails of the lid. But the rails don't stick down that far. 30in deep(a little more, but this is safe.) I would like the sub and the port to face the same direction, as I plan to fire it into the cable and seal it off. There is the trunk for reference: Thanks guys! 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin
Joe X
So here is a suggestion based on the power amp on your sig: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 32 HzVb = 3.8 ft^3External Height = 16.5 inExternal Width = 34 inExternal Depth = 20.375 inPort Width = 3 3/4 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 34 x 16 1/2Left & Right Sides = 18 1/8 x 15Top & Bottom = 34 x 18 1/8L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 14 3/8 x 15Extension = 10 5/8 x 15 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.- All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.- The port needs 3 1/2" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested. walwalka
Much appreciated! Thank you! However... It's just not gonna fit in that config, unless I build it in the trunk. I'd like to be able to remove it if need be. Being 18 in tall just didn't give it enough room to slide in. I built a template out of cardboard.. I'm open to suggestion now, is there a different box config that would allow me to be able to slide it in? If I decided that I wanted to build it in the trunk, What's the best way to go about that? Thanks again guys! In the end if I can't get the config I want I may have to decide on two 12's.. 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin

I won't take it out often, but I want to be able to take it out say I'm getting a new car or something a long those lines. I just don't want to be stuck with having to break the box to get it out. 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin
