Sundown Audio

Recommended Posts

So I got another E8v3 and will be building an enclosure asap.. I'm shooting for anywhere between 1.45-1.5ft^3 tuned to 32 or 30hz. I got 2 3" PSP aeros sitting around, not sure if I should use 1 or both?? The subs will be either on a Soundstream TX1.1300D on 950 RMS or a RE Audio DTS1500.1 on around 700 "RMS"..

1x 3" per sub

or 1x 4" for 2 subs

1.45-1.5 is a bit high for that much power

shoot for 1.2net with 2x 3" ports

side not with both of them port @ 17" in 1.2net your going to be @ 41hz

so youll need to extend them 27" each for 33hz

you could do 1x 3" @ 13" 32.5hz long but you may get some port noise, if its in the trunk you may not notice or care just beware it might be there

and idd use the soundstreem @ 2ohm giving 450 a piece

Alright, thank you for the help! I'll prob use the 2 ports and use elbows cause I'm trying to keep my box under 25.5" wide, and its gonna go in the back of a Volvo XC70, then in the trunk of my 13' Accord sedan and then in my bedroom lol.. Yeah it's going in a lot of places, just trying to experiment with it. I listen to a lot of decaf, rap, and some pop, that's why I'd like a low tuning.

  • 3 weeks later...

My box is around 1.34ft^3 after displacements tuned to just under 30hz. It's 13"H x 25:W x 12.75"D. I used 2 3" aeroports with long 90 degree elbows. It's in my bedroom running off a RE Audio DTS1500.1 DD-1 tuned, hooked up to a Coolmax 950 watt PSU. Its in my bedroom till I buy all the audio equipment for the Honda, may go in my Volvo XC70 for a lil while cause I'm ordering an Alpine CDE-147BT h.u and Infinity Primus comps and 2 ways for it.

Here are my babies (one new and one I've been using)

The Jasper model 200 is the best invention and I finally got myself one!

Box just needs the top and paint.

I used duct tape and plumbers putty incase if I for whatever reason, wanted to take them apart or take the elbows off to get a 32ishHz tuning. The bolt that goes through the opening of the elbow is there to secure it and it is very tight and there's no play.

Its all done! This set up gets pretty damn low too! Sounds great, I tuned to 30hz because I mainly listen to rap and decaf and this handles it great. Sounds pretty good on pop and everything I throw at it. Yea the screws were to close to the edge and began to bulge out yd32.jpg

Hmmmm... Just seeing how it look in my 9th gen. WILL eventually go in there once I get all my equipment to swap out all the audio and what not, this will go in there and then when my X-15 comes in and its box is done, I'll swap.

Amp is on an angle cause it has a fan on the bottom so its tilted for ventilation. Yep that's unnecessary 8 AWG wire...
