Okay so im helping my friend make a box for his SWR-10d4 Alpine Type R 10" subwoofer
he will be pushing 1000watts @ 2 ohms off his Kicker DX 1000.1
he needs a PORTED box that is going to be 1.1 Ft3 (preferably slotted port(s))
hes looking for something that will hit the lows and feel the bass, so I want to know the best place to put the box and what dimensions we should make it.

were putting it in his 2006 350Z Coupe 2D

He wants it pointed upwards infront of the hatch bar, kind of like this box but only one chamber instead of two. : http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-350Z-COUPE-03-08-DUAL-10-HATCH-CUSTOM-FIT-SUBWOOFER-ENCLOSURE-SUB-BOX-/390608882620

Im not sure if that would be the best spot for the sub, so any info would help, thanks.

I also just found this box on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-350Z-Ported-Vented-Sub-Box-Subwoofer-Enclosure-1-12-Tuned-To-32hz-/321020418315?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item4abe4ed90b&vxp=mtr

and this box on sonic..this box is the perfect cubic feet but he wants something that will fit better in the 350z

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_62682_Ground-Shaker-SQP-1-10.html

it says that the size of the box can be reduced upon request. so would it be a good idea to get this box in 1.1 cubic feet or should we make one with a different kind of port?

Most prefab boxes are in the 38-45hz

So most won't hit them lows,

To do that you'll need to build your own or get some to build you one

Are you able to build or have someone build

Or are you only interested in buying

If your looking at pre fab idd suggest sealed

If not post some measurement and see what arrives

He is going to put it under the strut bar to make things easier

He wants to build the best box possible for his subs to hit the low bass notes the best.

I can build the box for him so were going to go ported

the dims to fit it under the strut bar are 20"W 12"H 16"D (If it can be a little shorter than 12" high that would be better because 12" is really pushin it)
